Shredding with the Symphony | Violin & Orchestra

In the late ‘90’s, Rachel Barton Pine was one of the first classical artists to start playing her favorite hard rock and heavy metal songs on her acoustic violin, as she sought innovative ways to introduce new listeners to the symphony. This program features a normal, unamplified orchestra playing Ms. Pine’s orchestrations of songs by Led Zeppelin, Metallica, AC/DC, Van Halen, Rush, and more, interspersed with intense classical favorites by Shostakovich, Sibelius, Paganini, etc. An exciting way for rock fans to encounter the symphony and for classical fans to enjoy seeing the orchestra rock out!
